Police Execute Search Warrants in Gambling Sting

badge 123The Hawai’i Police Department, alongside assistance from Homeland Security, the Honolulu Police Department, and Prosecutor’s Office investigators, executed search warrants Tuesday afternoon.

At about 1 p.m., nine search warrants at seven establishments and two homes were conducted. The locations were all connected to illegal gambling operations.

Five establishments were located in Hilo, along Hualani Street, Kalanikoa Street, Kilauea Avenue, West Lanikaula Street, and Manono Street. In addition, one of the locations was along Mamalahoa Highway in Kamuela, and one was located on Kaiwi Street in Kailua-Kona.

The two homes searched were located in Kona along Wana Street and along Waipio Road in Honoka’a.

Authorities seized gambling devices and machines, along with gambling proceeds, records, and other evidence.

No arrests have been made in connection to the executed warrants.
