A two-vehicle collision Saturday evening has led to the death of a 20-year-old passenger.

The Hawai’i Police Department reports that officers responded to a 7:43 p.m. call of an incident one-mile south of the three-mile marker on Highway 190.

According to authorities, a 1999 green Volkswagen Jetta was traveling north on Highway 190 when the vehicle lost control as a result of wet roadway conditions. The vehicle had reportedly been in an area where the road curves.

The Jetta veered into the oncoming southbound lane of travel and hit the side of a gold 2014 Dodge Caravan, driven by a 55-year-old Waikoloa woman.
