The Hawaii Board of Education will hold a community meeting Thursday at Kealakehe High School cafeteria in Kailua-Kona.
The community meetings are designed to share information and obtain community input on the Department of Education’s strategic plan for public education and on the Hawaii State Public Library System, the DOE said in a press release.
Parents, students, teachers and all interested members of the public are encouraged to attend.
“We look forward to hearing from communities and hope that these meetings allow everyone an opportunity to learn more about the Department of Education’s tremendous effort to improve student achievement,” said Brian De Lima, the board’s Big Island member and its vice chairman.
This will be the fifth community meeting on the Big Island held by the board since its members took office in 2011, the DOE said.
