The sentencing of Big Island cannabis minister Roger Christie that had been scheduled for today has been postponed.

According to documents filed with US District Court in Honolulu, the sentencing was initially extended to Feb. 10, and then two weeks ago was moved again, this time to Feb. 12.

A motion filed on Tuesday by Christie’s attorney listed three objections to a pre-sentencing report.

Christie pleaded guilty Sept. 27 to a single count of marijuana trafficking and two counts of failing to file income tax returns. He had been facing 10 counts, eight of those involving distribution or manufacture of marijuana.

At the time, Christie’s Honolulu attorney Thomas Otake said that he expected his client to receive a five-year prison sentence. Counting time already served, Otake believed Christie would serve only about six more months.

Christie has been in the federal lockup since July 2010.

His wife, Sherryanne “Share” Christie, pleaded guilty to possession and distribution of marijuana in September. She was scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, Jan. 27, but it was not immediately known if that date has been changed.

Neither Otake nor Share Christie’s attorney, Lynn Panagakos, returned calls seeking comment.

Share Christie is out on bond.

Sentencings for six of the Christies’ co-defendants are scheduled on various dates between Jan. 27 at April 24.

Other documents filed in court since the Christies’ guilty pleas include preliminary orders of forfeiture of assets prosecutors say were obtained through or used in the commission of the crimes.

For Roger Christie that included a condominium in the Wainaku Terrace apartment building at 360 Kauila St. in Hilo and $21,494 in cash seized there. Share Christie will also forfeit her interest in that currency, the documents said.
