The independent film festival brings a weekend long lineup of Hawai‘i-made content to the Hilo Palace Theater on June 1 and 2, with a follow up “Best of Fest” evening at Kona’s Aloha Theater on June 14.

Submissions open Friday, Feb. 1, and runs through March 15. Categories include feature-length and short narrative films, documentaries, music videos and web series. To qualify, projects must have at least 50% of the principal photography shot within the State of Hawai‘i, completed no earlier than January 2016.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing the festival back to Hawai‘i Island for a full weekend run, plus a follow up in South Kona,” said festival Executive Director Zoe Eisenberg. “We can’t wait to see what Hawai‘i-based filmmakers have been working on this past year.”
