Looking Ahead

Trade winds will ease today and shift out of the southeast on Thursday as a front advances toward the state. Showers will remain focused over windward slopes, though afternoon sea breezes will produce clouds and spotty showers over leeward terrain. The front and its associated rainfall are expected to reach Kauai on Friday, then move down the island chain through Saturday. Breezy and rather cool northeasterly winds will build in along and behind the front, followed by moderate to locally breezy trade winds early next week.
