Convection has started to develop across interior Big Island and the leeward slopes of Haleakala. A quick update was issued for Maui to add thunderstorm chances to the afternoon forecast over Upcountry areas.

Tonight: Occasional showers. Low around 68. West northwest wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
