After losing their school of 18 years to the Kīlauea lava flows, Kua O Ka Lā Public Charters School is asking for community volunteers to come to Nani Mau Gardens in Pana‘ewa this Saturday and Sunday July 28 and 29, from 9 a.m. until sunset to help renovate the building for the upcoming school year.

The school needs community support to open the school on Aug. 6, 2018, and they are seeking volunteers willing to assist with landscaping, carpentry, painting and general cleaning.

Nani Mau Gardens is located at 421 Makalika St. in Hilo.
