PC: Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island expressed appreciation to its sponsors, golfers, donors, volunteers, youth members, board of directors and staff for the success of its 12th annual Tee Off for Kids Golf Tournament fundraising event.

The event raised funding to benefit Hawai‘i Island youth through programs that help underserved youth in Hilo, Kea‘au, Kealakehe, Pāhala, Pāhoa and Ocean View. Boys & Girls Club focuses on creating a safe and nurturing environment where youth can do activities that inspire academic success, healthy living, leadership and character building.

Research indicates that it costs an estimated $4,500 each year to provide after-school youth services for one child. Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island provides services to youth that can also be supported by individual contributions online at: http://www.bgcbi.org/.
