One Fatality in Three-Car Head-On Accident

The Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to a report of a head-on vehicle accident on Highway 190, at the 18.5 mile marker at 6:50 a.m., July 16, 2018.

The HFD arrived at the scene at 7:01 a.m. to find three damaged vehicles.

One incurred severe front-end damage; one had moderate front-end damage and the other had only minor damage.

Four people were involved in the accident: one fatality and three who refused medical treatment,

The highway remains closed for investigative purposes.
