The Hawai‘i Fire Department reported that three engine companies responded to a structure fire in Pāhoa on King Kamehameha Boulevard on Thursday, June 29, 2018, at 9:08 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a structure fire involving a single story, abandoned and previously burned home that was approximately 25% engulfed in flames.

No occupants were on the scene and no other homes in the area were threatened.

The fire was extinguished and the scene was turned over to Hawai‘i Police Department officers for further investigation.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
