The Hawai‘ Department of Transportation and the County of Hawai‘i, in
partnership with Sanford’s Service Center Inc., has begun work on an alternate emergency route for Highway 130 (Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road).

The route connects Highway 130 through Sanford’s Service Center Inc. property north of Kamā‘ili Road/‘Opihikāō Drive and Ala‘ili Road.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and to drive with caution as heavy machinery will be in the work area.

The Hawai‘i DOT and the County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the community for their patience and understanding.
