‘Iwa Arts & Café in Kealakekua will host many events and workshops in March 2018. Building on the foundation of “delicious coffee and edible art,” ‘Iwa exposes locals and visitors to the creative process and invites participation.

Saturday, March 10, 10–11 a.m.
Keiki Succulent Workshop with Lauren Fusco, Eleph Hawaii Succulent Boutique In this workshop, children will decorate pots, plant four to five succulents in a personalized arrangement and learn how to care for their new plants. Class size: five to nine children ages 5 and up, by advance registration. Price: $45 includes activity, materials, sparkling fruit lemonade, hummus and carrot snack.

March 15, 10–11 a.m.
Children’s Music Hour with Kristin Lagasse An hour of fun for you and your little one exploring music through song, instruments and movement out in the yard at ‘Iwa Arts & Cafe. Recommended for  keiki 5 and younger. Parent and child activity. Price: $12 per day. Call to register: (808) 731-6582 or email [email protected].

Board Games and Brunch-Breakfast Burritos featuring DIY Succulent Bar by Eleph Creations Starting at $8, Lauren will bring an assortment of succulents, pots, crystals and shells for you to mix and match. Brunch Menu: breakfast burritos with vegetarian refried beans, egg or tofu scramble, soy chorizo, side of fresh house guacamole, pico de gallo and corn chips, New Mexico red or green chili sauce. Includes fresh fruit and beverage. Price: $15 adults, $8 kids. While supplies last. RSVP via Eventbrite to reserve your brunch. Drop-ins are welcom. Regular menu but will be available with a limited amount of special brunch options.

Night Cafe featuring Songwriter in the Round with Kristin Lagasse, Ellen Keehen and Olivia Kintzele ​Saturdays starting March 17 at ‘Iwa Arts & Cafe: Bring an art project, writing, journal, quiet work or a project to collaborate with friends. Quiet creative time. Sometimes music. Adults and teens welcome. BYOB (age 21 and over only, wine or beer—no hard alcohol).

Saturday, March 24, 9 a.m.–noon
Coffee & Indigo mornings at ‘Iwa Cafe, fourth Saturday of the month. Designed for people who have taken an Indigo Workshop at ‘Iwa and want to further develop their practice independently. BYO fabric. Maximum fabric dimensions per piece: 36 by 36 inches Price: $15 per day or $65 for Open Studio Pass (good for five sessions). Limited space, by advance registration.

Fridays, March 30 – April 27 from 6–9 p.m.
The Year in Figure Painting with William Wingert Drawing and Painting The Figure from Life. Figure studies in charcoal and oil. Explore design through the human figure. Learn the construction of an image through light and shadow. Five-week-series by advance registration. Series price: $165 includes model fee, instruction and supplies.
