The Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death Working Group will host two symposia on Hawai‘i Island in March 2018.

  • Saturday, March 3: West Hawaiʻi Symposium at West Hawaiʻi Civic Center, County Council Chambers
  • Saturday, March 17: East Hawaiʻi Symposium at University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, UCB 100

Presentations will include Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death—tale of two species, how the fungus spreads, screening for resistance, wood treatment research, aerial tools for disease tracking, effects on the forest, management actions, and recommendations for landowners.

The group will also host small group discussions to gather feedback from the community and provide sessions for questions/answers.

Speaker presentations will start at 8:30 a.m. The symposia are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon.
