A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the Big Island through Thursday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2018.

A low pressure system approaching the islands from the northwest will bring the threat of slow-moving bands of showers, with embedded heavy rain.

A low approaching from the northwest is producing slow-moving bands of showers.

A band of heavy showers over Maui County is moving east slowly and is expected to bring heavy rain to the Big Island by Thursday.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.

Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

Monitor forecasts and be prepared to move to higher ground if heavy rain occurs or a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
