The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation announced the reopening of the Herbert Shipman Park playground in Kea‘au on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018.

This follows the successful installation of a new playground safety surface, replacement of damaged and missing components, and comprehensive cleaning.

The department thanks park users and the general public for their understanding and patience during the playground closure.
