Turkey Trot to Benefit The Food Basket

The Fairmont Orchid will host the Second Annual Turkey Trot, which is a benefit for The Food Basket Inc., otherwise known as Hawaiʻi Island’s Food Bank.

The 5K “Trot” will begin and end at Turtle Pointe, an expansive lawn located on the grounds of the AAA Four Diamond Resort  The course will wind its way through Mauna Lani Resort. Participants will be able to enjoy complimentary “After Trot” refreshments including mimosas and Bloody Mary cocktails along with coffee, fresh fruit and pastries provided by Ocean Vodka, Kenwood Yulupa, Paradise Coffee, Armstrong Produce and Suisan.

“This is truly a unique and remarkable event,” said The Food Basket Public Relations & Events Director Jamilia Epping. “We are honored to be the beneficiary of such a great event and are looking forward to raising money for those in need, especially during this holiday season.”

Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and the trot begins at 8 a.m. Registration is $35 for adults, $25 for children 12 through 18 and complimentary for kids under 12.
