Guests and locals are invited to celebrate the grand opening of Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice at the Courtyard King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel on Oct. 20 from noon to 4 p.m. The event will include free samples, giveaways and swag.
The hotel will also hold a Facebook sweepstakes contest with a chance to win one year of free shaved ice. The winner will be announced on Facebook on the day of the grand opening.
Located across from the Big Island Golf Shop in the hotel’s lobby shopping area, Ululani’s opened on Oct. 2 as the first franchise in the shave ice company’s portfolio. Touted as “second to known in Hawai‘i,” the menu features gluten-free ingredients made with pure cane sugar.

In addition, King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel features a wide variety of culinary offerings including fresh, Hawai‘i-inspired cuisines incorporating seafood, sushi and local produce, as well as signature cocktails.
The hotel’s offerings also include a golf simulator with 37 virtual courses, golf equipment for rent or purchase, golf lessons and concierge service.
