Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Island.

Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island was one of three statewide recipients of Office of Hawaiian Affair’s education grants.

This grant totaling $250,638 is to implement BGCBI’s Mohala Ike Project, which will run 2017 through 2019.

The Mohala Ike Project is designed to assist club members ages 5 to 17 to succeed academically by skillfully instilling lifelong learning habits in these youth of Hawai‘i Island communities.

The goal of OHA’s Educational Grant Program is to improve Native Hawaiian student proficiency in reading and math to improve their standardized test scores.
