Aloha Air Cargo has opened a new cargo facility in Hilo at 95 Akahana Street, Suite 100. The new building opened on Sunday, Sept. 17, following two years of planning and construction.

Business hours at the new location are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturdays from 6 to 8 a.m.; and Sundays from 3 to 7 p.m.

“Aloha Air Cargo is occupying 19,000 square feet under roof and is accommodating Cargo and Maintenance operations,” Aloha Air Cargo General Manager Rick Sakamoto said. “The facility has two large roll-up bay doors, along with a new, large refrigeration unit.”

Aloha Air Cargo said the new location has logistical advantages for customers, particularly the U.S. Postal Service. The move is part of the State of Hawai‘i’s Hilo Airport Improvement and Modernization Plan.

The new Hilo facility joins neighbor island cargo stations in Lihue, Kahului, Kailua-Kona and a primary operational hub on O‘ahu. The company also has cargo facilities in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
