Sen. Mazie K. Hirono (D-Hawai‘i) yesterday released a statement announcing her support for Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vermont) Medicare for All Bill.

Sen. Sanders unveiled his single-payer healthcare proposal, the Medicare for All plan, today, before a packed room of supporters on Capitol Hill.
“We are all one diagnosis away from a major illness,” said Sen. Hirono. “When that time comes, no one should have to worry about whether they can afford the care that might save their life. I support universal, affordable, accessible, quality healthcare as a right, not a privilege. A single payer, Medicare for All system is a strong articulation of this principle, which is why I support this bill.
“There are other strong proposals that will put us on a path to a single payer system,” Send Hirono sadi. “I will support proposals that reaffirm the principle that universal healthcare is a right, not a privilege.”

Francis Chong And 50 years later, we still don't have Universal Healthcare in Hawaii and the USA. Don't make promises you cannot keep. You have your Lifetime Benefits, we don't. Be a true servant to the people who elected you and placed their Trust on you. So far you have failed them. And KARMA is always watching. Cleveland Morantz I'm amazed at such nasty and negative responses to an idea that would make America a better place. Things only get better if people raise the issue and explore the possibilities. The ACA was flawed but is was a start. Let's work to improve things and not go backwards.September 14, 2017 11:38am
