Historic Kailua Village Hosts ‘Kau Kau Kailua’ in September

Historic Kailua Village has announced 30 days of family friendly entertainment and restaurant discounts during the month of September.

The month-long event, called Kau Kau Kailua, offers special value coupons for participating restaurants. Coupons are valid through the end of September and can be printed in advance or displayed on smartphones at the time of ordering.

For live entertainment, Kau Kau Kailua will feature Sean Na‘auao, a Hawaiʻi singer, musician and composer starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17. The free concert will take place at Emma’s Square across from Huliheʻe Palace.

On Sept. 30, Kau Kau Kailua will present Hawaiian Sunset Saturday with a free one-hour Hawaiian music and hula performance beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Coconut Grove Marketplace.

The lineup of September events is sponsored by Kailua Village Business Improvement District and the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority with support from community partners including: KTA Super Stores, Current Events, Kona Commons, On The Rocks, Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel, Huggo’s, KBXtreme, Bank of Hawaiʻi, Lex Brodie’s Tires, Body Glove Cruises, Brewery Block and Walmart.
