Office Adam Cho has been named Kona Crime Prevention Officer of the month for August 2017.

Cho was recently patrolling Ali‘i Drive when a woman waved him down to inform him that she had just witnessed a man stealing merchandise from a store.

Cho approached the subject in question who bolted and ran through several parking lots and businesses with the officer in pursuit. After losing sight of the man for several minutes, Cho and another police officer relocated him. The other officer used his vehicle to slow the man’s escape while Cho caught up and made the apprehension. The man was arrested and charged with theft of merchandise.

In an HPD press release, Officer Cho was said to be a “consummate individual who exemplifies the Core Values of the Hawai‘i Police Department.”
