The West Hawai‘i Small Business Development Center and The Bank of Hawai‘i will sponsor a workshop, “How to Start a Business in Hawai‘i”, on Wednesday, May 31, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., at Hale Iako, 73-970 Makako Bay Dr., Kailua-Kona, on the NELHA campus.

This workshop will discuss what it takes to be an entrepreneur, issues affecting the different types of business entities, the logistics of forming a business, and the various considerations a business owner must include in any business plan.

The presenter, Dennis Boyd, has over 30 years’ experience in small business and is the Director of the West Hawai‘i Small Business Development Center. He was recently recognized as the SBA’s Small Business Advocate of the Year for Financial Services in Hawai‘i County.
