The Paradise Roller Girls are hosting the first annual Big Island Brawl tournament from Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4 at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

The tournament will be held at the Grand Naniloa Hotel and will feature teams from across Hawai‘i, Colorado, Japan and New Zealand.

“Hosting an International Roller Derby Tournament of this magnitude with teams from across the world and the state has been a personal goal of mine for several years,” says Coach Katherine “Anita Whiskey” Wood. “At 45 years old, I am elated that it is going to happen in my competitive lifetime.”

Games will be running from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are available at Lucy’s Taqueria, or at the door. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under the age of five.
