Looking Ahead
Winds are expected to weaken allowing for land and sea breezes to take over the forecast across the state. The atmosphere is forecast to remain somewhat unstable because of a nearby disturbance high in the atmosphere. Some showers could get heavy and the chance of thunderstorms continues especially for interior and leeward areas in the afternoon. Trade winds should fill back in slowly for the weekend bringing windward and mauka showers back into the forecast. Winds are expected to pick back up from Sunday through Tuesday.
Today
We have variable winds today from 5 to 15 mph with afternoon sea breezes developing for leeward areas. High temperatures are forecast from 82° to 87° but feeling a bit muggy. Mostly sunny skies to start with scattered showers in the afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall is possible with a slight chance of thunderstorms.
UV index at 11 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight
