    Looking Ahead

    Moderate trade wind speeds are forecast for the next couple days with passing windward showers. Trade winds will become breezy over the weekend with increasing windward rainfall expected.

    We have northeast winds today around 5 to 20 mph with higher gusts. High temperatures are forecast from 81° to 86°. Partly sunny skies with scattered windward showers. The Kona side will be mostly sunny to start with mostly cloudy skies and isolated showers in the afternoon.

    Tonight

    Northeast winds are forecast around 5 to 20 mph. Mostly cloudy skies are expected for Hawaii County with scattered windward showers. Clearing skies are expected for the Kona side overnight. Low temperatures from 67° to 72°.

Malika leads the Big Island Now weather team and enjoys conducting video interviews for Big Island Now's news and entertainment sections. The former Miss Hawaii is also a black belt in karate, avid waterwoman, jewelry designer, singer, TV host and mommy blogger.
