Three Rescued Off Shipman Beach

The Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to a report involving three swimmers in distress off Shipman Beach on Saturday, March 25.

Two minor females were swept out to sea due to strong currents and one adult male entered the ocean to assist them.

First responders arrivedat 2:22 p.m. and all parties were rescued.

The three swimmers were brought to shore with no injuries and denied medical assistance.

The minor females were turned over to Hawai‘i Police Department officers, who obtained approval from their parents to leave them with the responsible adult who brought them there.
