‘Taking the Scariness Out of Conflict’
With a focus on “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace,” this month’s Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center lunch-and-learn meeting features Andrea Pro, who will present “Taking the Scariness Out of Conflict” on Thursday, March 16, 2017, from noon to 1 p.m.
“Underneath most conflicts are differences that are simply expressions of our uniqueness,” said Pro. “It’s a great loss for everyone when we shy away from exploring our differences.”
In this interactive mini-workshop, explore why we fear conflict and how to take the lead in forging a safe container to invite open dialogue with others.
Pro will share three must-have skills for navigating differences with clarity and confidence.
Ku‘ikahi’s Brown Bag Lunch Series is free and open to the public.
The center presents interesting speakers discussing topics related to communication, dispute prevention and resolution, and transforming conflict on the third Thursday of each month.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session, and meet others interested in “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace.”
Meeting are held at the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney at 655 Kilauea Ave. in Hilo.
