Water Notice for Kapa‘au and North Kohala Area

The Department of Water Supply will be conducting a fire hydrant flow test at a hydrant at the corner of Hawi-Niuli‘i Rd. and Hospital Road on Tuesday, Feb. 28, between 9 and 10 a.m.

Consumers along Hawi-Niuli‘i Road between Kapa‘au Road and ʻĀinakea Road, including Kapa‘au Road, Hospital Road; the entire ʻĀinakea village subdivision and all side roads and lanes; Kapa‘au; and North Kohala will be affected.

The affected areas may experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test.

Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and to store a container of water for their drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.

The Department of Water Supply asks if there are any unusual problems during or after the flushing period to call Direct Supervisor II Andrew Higa at 887-3030.
