The Hawai‘i Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce will hold its Dennis Aguiar Portuguese Day in the Park on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gilbert Carvalho Park in Hilo.

Attendees can enjoy music, dance and card games.

The event will feature a Portuguese language table, with ship logs and manifests, where attendees may find family members and friends.

Portuguese singing, children’s dance and martial arts demonstrations, and a Portuguese Fashion Show will begin at 10 a.m.

The Hawai‘i County Band will begin entertaining at 11 a.m.

At noon, Portuguese bean soup and bread will be served, fresh from the stone over, compliments of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.

Malasadas, pickled onions, Portuguese sweet bread, sausage and hot dogs will be for sale.

Park T-shirts and totes will also be available for purchase.

Help support the chamber’s mission to build a Portuguese cultural and education center.
