The Walmart Foundation is offering grant awards starting at $25,000 to nonprofit organizations with hunger-relief programs in Hawaiʻi.
Hunger-relief programs may include, but are not limited to, food pantries, backpack programs and SNAP outreach. Applicants must have a current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
Grant applications will be accepted beginning Monday, Feb. 6, and the deadline to submit a request is Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. CST.
“We see these grants as opportunities to use our size and strengths to help others,” said Steven Reed, Hawaiʻi market manager for Walmart. “Supporting local hunger-relief programs is one more way we can help children and families have access to nutritious food.”
Walmart and the Walmart Foundation plan to provide four billion meals to people in need between 2015 and 2020 through grant awards, hunger-relief programs and food donations.
