Hawaiʻi Island police have located 52-year-old Derek Liu of Honokaʻa, who was wanted on bench warrants.

Liu was found in Keaʻau at 1:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19 and arrested and charged with two counts of violating terms of bail.
Two days after police put out a Dec. 2 media release asking for the public’s help in locating Liu, he became the subject of a missing person investigation when his Zodiac boat was found floating a mile off the coast in the Kohala Estate area.
