Cultivating Inner Peace Workshop in HiloDecember 14, 2016, 11:39 AM HST (Updated December 14, 2016, 11:42 AM)
As part of its free, Brown Bag Lunch Series, Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center will offer “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace” on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney in Hilo.
This month’s speaker is Erika Ginnis, who will discuss “Cultivating Inner Peace: Tips & Techniques for the Holidays & Beyond.”
“Cultivating inner peace is important, since people, places and things don’t always behave in the way we’d like them to,” said Ginnis. “When you release trying to control the world around you, and instead focus on what you can control—that which is within—you create a positive effect without effort.”
In this talk, learn some helpful methods, including guided visualization, for dealing with stress around the holidays and beyond.
The lunch-and-learn series, which is scheduled for the third Thursday of each month, features interesting speakers discussing topics related to communication, dispute prevention and resolution, and transforming conflict.
Ku‘ikahi’s Brown Bag Lunch Series is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session and meet others interested in “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace.”
The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is located at 655 Kilauea Ave.
