It has come to my attention, that the people of Hawai‘i who face psychological illness in their life, who need the help of financial assistance from their government, face government intervention, prying into the lives of these people.

Need I remind us, the government is by the people for the people!

It is understandable that the government wants to ensure that people claiming illness have a valid claim in order to receive assistance. The state of Hawai‘i, to ensure the validity, will send the individual to a doctor to verify illness; once verification has been completed, and there is a valid illness, a person in the state of Hawai‘i can begin to receive monthly financial assistance from the state.

But the verification is not all. You also have to complete “compliance” in order to continue receiving monthly benefits. This “compliance” is where the problems begin!

As I stated about a government by the people for the people, the government has no right to interfere in the life of a person and dictate terms in a manner like this.

Everyone has the right to determine the best course of action they want to pursue in their life for treatment, but in this situation, we have government telling us exactly what we have to do in order to receive financial assistance, by way of this “compliance.”

“Compliance” is needing to see a doctor and take medication, if this doctor considers medication necessary, but you do have to seek therapy.

This “compliance,” as I’ve just outlined above, might seem normal and acceptable, and many might be asking the question, what is wrong here? What is wrong is that this issue gets back to the rights of the individual to choose the path they believe is in their best interests! Not everyone believes in the medical industry and pharmaceuticals, or the medical industry approach to therapy! Many people believe in a natural and holistic approach to health and life!

Also a fact of this “compliance” as it applies to prying into the life of an individual, you receive a “Compliance Sheet” that a doctor completes, which goes into great detail about any medications, or types of treatments, along with cause and effect of treatment, if any is working or not, etc….

This “Compliance Sheet” is a violation of the rights of individuals to privacy, it is not the right of government to know the business of an individual in a manner like this! Government has no right to pry into the life of an individual with information like this, along with keeping an eye on a person’s life in this manner!

Information on this “Compliance Sheet” can also be used against a person in life, affecting their personal and business life, this is information government should not be asking or allowed to have!

Can someone go to a doctor in the beginning of this eligibility process, become validated by a doctor with an illness and then pursue their own path to health with natural and holistic means and receive financial assistance? The answer is no! This is wrong and this is government interference, and the government has no right to dictate terms and conditions in this manner. A person has the right to choose their own course of action, and still receive financial assistance.

I truly hope whoever reads this will investigate this matter and run a story. This is truly news that needs to be heard! This needs to be stopped now!
