By order of Gov. David Ige, the US flag and the Hawai‘i state flag will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to noon on Monday, May 30, 2016, in honor of Memorial Day and in memory of the brave Americans who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and security of our nation.

“This Memorial Day, we remember those who gave their lives for us, and we reflect on the high cost of our freedoms,”said Gov. Ige. “We especially remember the 12 Marines who were lost over the waters of the North Shore during a training exercise in January. They were our friends and neighbors—part of our community—and we grieve with their families,”
