Public Invited to Honomū Community Meeting

On Thursday, May 26, the Honomū Community Association will host a public meeting with the Hawai’i County Department of Parks and Recreation and County Councilwoman Valerie Poindexter.

The meeting will be held within the Honomū gymnasium at 5 p.m. and will include various community partners discussing topics including recent gym and park improvements, invasive species, and community concerns.

Councilwoman Poindexter will join Springer Kaye of the Big Island Invasive Species Committee, the area’s community policing officer, Jayme Carvalho, Hamakua district supervisor for the Department of Parks and Recreation, and Honomū Gym director Rod Cambra for presentations on the meeting’s topics.
