Family Milestones Take Ige to the Mainland

Governor David Ige and First Lady Dawn Amano-Ige are headed to the mainland.

The pair will be attending two academic milestones of their daughters in New York.

Lauren Ige, 25, will graduate from Georgetown Law, while daughter Amy Ige, 24, is graduating from nursing school at the University of Rochester.

Mathew Ige, the governor’s only son, is studying computer science at John Hopkins University.

Governor Ige and First Lady Ige will leave Honolulu Wednesday afternoon and return on Monday, May 23.

While the governor is away, Lieutenant Shan Tsutsui will serve as acting governor.
