KKCC to Present West Hawai’i Workforce Needs Assessment

The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce will host a free West Hawai’i Workforce Needs presentation on Tuesday, May 10.

From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the chamber will present findings from a two-year analysis conducted by the Education and Workforce Committee to determine the current needs of the West Hawai’i business community, as well as a peek into the future for needs down the line.

Among the ideas on the discussion board are the top five skills required to work successfully in West Hawai’i businesses, specific certifications and degrees sought in employees by West Hawai’i businesses, the top ten skills employers are provided training for, and what businesses are communicating about future training needs in West Hawai’i.

The Education and Workforce Development Committee seeks to facilitate connections between the education and business communities for the sake of business and workforce development on the Big Island.

The meeting will be held at the West Hawai’i Civic Center’s Community Hale Building G.
