Kamehameha-Hawai’i Alum Earns VB Award at Barton

Kekaulike Alameda is making an immediate impact on the volleyball floor at Barton College.

Alameda, a 2015 Kamehameha-Hawai’i graduate, was named to the All-Conference Carolinas Third Team in his rookie collegiate season earlier this week.

This season, Alameda led the conference with 292 total digs. His 2.92 digs per set average was second best in the league. He also totaled double-digit dig numbers in 18 of his team’s 27 matches.

Another former Big Island high school volleyball standout is with Alameda at Barton, located in Wilson, N.C. Hilo High graduate Justice Lord has played in 16 matches for the Bulldogs in his freshman season, averaging 0.97 kills per set.

Barton’s season continued on Friday in the Conference Carolina tournament semifinals against Pfeiffer.
