Polutry in MotionVolcano School of Arts and Sciences’ Middle School will get on the stage at Kilauea Military Camp’s Kilauea Theater on Thursday, May 5.

Each VSAS class will perform an act of a play tied together with a comic theme.

Students in the sixth grade will perform “Poultry in Motion” by Patrick Rainville Dorn. The act will combine various fables through a scrambled presentation, including Chicken Little, the Little Red Hen, Foxy Loxy, and Old MacDonald.

Seventh grade students will perform a murder mystery with a funny take, “No Body to Murder” by Edith Weiss. An escaped convict threatens guests at the Come On Inn of Nova Scotia, then, aerobics instructor Billie Body is murdered during a power outage. Suspicions rage between nearly everyone who has a hidden motive to want Billie Body dead.

Closing out the evening, the eighth grade class will perform “After Hours” by Kevin Stone. The act follows two lively mannequins, LuAnn and Patty, who liven up inside a quiet clothing store that is closed for the evening. They discover fellow mannequin Danny in a mistakenly delivered crate, and that’s when things get interesting. He not only gets out of his box, but he thinks outside the box when a pair of bungling burglars breaks in.

Admission to the 6 p.m. show is free, but donations will be accepted.
