Hilo Fire Hydrant Flow Test Scheduled for April 7

fire hydrantA fire hydrant flow test along Akahana Street in Hilo will take place on Thursday, April 7.

The test is scheduled between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Department of Water Supply customers along Akahana Street and Kekuanaoa Street between Kanoelehua Avenue and Hilo International Airport, including Mokuea Street, ‘Ailolo Street, Leleaoa Street, Kekuanaoa Place, Keaukaha Military Reservation, and Operations Street, may be affected by the brief test.

Customers in the mentioned areas may experience slightly discolored or turbid water for several hours after the test. It is advised that customers refrain from washing clothes during that period and store a container of water for their drinking needs.
