A robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning is being investigated by the Hawai’i Police Department.
According to authorities, a 28-year-old Puna man reported that he was robbed at about 3:50 a.m. as he was hitchhiking along Highway 130 in the Kaloli Drive area.
The victim told police he was able to flee from the car on foot when it pulled over near Maku’u Drive.
Police described the vehicle involved in the incident as a light-colored four-door sedan.

Multiple occupants were reportedly in the vehicle.
