Public comment is currently being sought on judicial nominees for a vacancy in the District Court of the Third Circuit on the Big Island.
The Honorable Barbara T. Takase will being retiring and the position will need to be filled.
Names submitted by the Judicial Selection Commission for the vacancy include Kevin S. Hashizaki, Peter K. Kubota, Michelle K. Laubach, Laureen L. Martin, Darien W.L.C. Nagata, and Jeffrey W.S. Ng.
The Chief Justice has the discretion to assign judges to the district and the district family court calendar.
