Work Furlough Inmate Arrested, Returned to HCCC

Devin Saragosa-Taoy, a Hale Nani work furlough inmate who failed to check back into the facility after work on Nov. 23, is back in custody.

The Hawai’i Department of Public Safety says Saragosa-Taoy was arrested by the Hawai’i Police Department in Hilo on Tuesday night, and he was back at the Hawai’i Community Correctional Center Wednesday afternoon.

Saragosa-Taoy was serving time for robbery and now faces an additional escape charge.

Pass privileges are available to community custody inmates in the work furlough program. Community custody is the lowest classification status.
