The United States Environmental Protection Agency has cancelled all pesticide licenses for sulfoxaflor-containing products throughout the state under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, 7 U.S.C. sections 136-136y.

Beginning on Nov. 12, the products were prohibited from being sold, according to the Hawai’i State Department of Agriculture on Monday.

Retailers, distributors, and other dealers cannot legally sell or give away the pesticides in alliance with the EPA order.

Growers who are currently using products containing sulfoxaflor can use the product per its directions until their stock is exhausted.
