Christmas with the Chefs to Benefit Culinary Students

The American Culinary Federation Kona Kohala Chefs Association is preparing for its annual fundraiser, The 27th Annual Christmas with the Chefs holiday gala.

This year’s event will be hosted on the grounds of the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Featured participants of the evening include a wide range of expert chefs from the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar; Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows, Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, Kailua Candy Company, Pueo’s Osteria, Huggo’s, The Feeding Leaf, Lava Lava Beach Club, Red Water Café, and Habaneros Bar & Grill.

First-time participants Kohala Burger & Taco and Mai Grille by Chef Allen Hess will also jump in on the action. The Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel also plans to offer a special culinary treat.

Kona Brewing Company, Mehana Brewing Company, and Big Island Brewhaus, along with fine wines and 100 percent Kona coffee, will also be available.

Musical entertainment by the Bill Noble Trio, dancing, and a silent auction will also fill the night.

The evening will benefit local culinary students who attend Hawai’i Community College-Palamanui and members of the Kona Kohala Chefs who are interested in furthering their education.

Tickets to the event are $85 in advance or $90 at the door. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets by phone at 329-2522 or online at the Kona Kohala Chefs website. Tickets can also be bought with cash at Kailua Candy Company, Kona Wine Market, Westside Wines Kona, Kamuela Liquor, and Bentley’s in Waimea.
