Tree trimming work will cause the closure of the Waipi’o Valley access road on two days this week.

Officials from the Hawai’i County Department of Public Works have announced the closure of the roadway on Thursday, Nov. 19 and Friday, Nov. 20 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., followed by the resumption of work from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on each of those days.

The closure of the road is necessary to conduct the work in a “timely manner and for the safety of the workers and traveling public,” according to DPW officials.
