A man who died last weekend following a one-vehicle motorcycle traffic collision has been identified.

The Hawai’i Police Department says 62-year-old David Morse of Ocean View was driving along Highway 11 on Saturday, north of the 93-mile marker, when he failed to negotiate a turn in the road.

Police said Saturday that the motorcycle ran off the roadway and down a large embankment.

Morse, who was ejected from the motorcycle, was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where he later died.
