Initial PWC Hawai’i Challenge Standings Released

The University of Hawai’i at Hilo women’s cross country team has given its school two points in the season-long PacWest Conference Hawai’i Challenge, which comprises of results between all four Hawai’i-based Division II institutions.

UH-Hilo finished third among the Hawai’i schools at the PacWest Cross Country Championships, held on Oct. 24. The Vulcans finished in thirteenth place, one spot better than last place Chaminade.

Hawai’i Pacific University claimed four points in the Hawai’i Challenge standings after finishing first among the Hawai’i schools, claiming fifth place at the event. Brigham Young University-Hawai’i got three points for its eighth place finish.

Points are still being tallied in the ongoing women’s volleyball, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer seasons. In volleyball, UH-Hilo is currently in second place with a pair of wins over Chaminade, but is looking up at BYU-Hawai’i, who has a win over each of the other Hawai’i schools

In men’s soccer, only two matches have counted towards the standings. UH-Hilo and HPU have picked up a win each over conference competition. And in women’s soccer, BYU-Hawai’i and HPU have the only wins on the schedule.
